This is my version of a CD player/recorder. This player / Recorder has the following abilities: 1. Plays audio CD's. 2. Change Tracks forward and backwards. 3. Rewind and Forward by 5 seconds. 4. Open the CD door. 5. Close the CD door 6. Reads and displays the CD's ID number. 7. Reads and displays the total tracks of the CD. 8. Reads and displays the total time of the CD. 9. Records Audio CD's (WAV format). 10. With the proper sound card, you can set the recording audio format (6 k/sec 8 bit mono thru 192 k/sec 16 bit stereo). 11. Displays the correct track time even on audio CD's with programs on them. 12. Handles multiple CD ROM drives (IDE or SCSI, or mixed). 13. Can auto-play a CD. 14. Repeat Track. 15. Repeat Entire CD. 16. Random Tracks. 17. Select tracks to play. 18 When playing an Audio CD, a graphic of notes shows and dances. Not to the music however… This program uses the following API functions: 1. mciSendString 2. mciGetErrorString 3. GetDriveType 4. GetVolumeInformation 5. SetWindowRgn 6. DeleteObject 7. ReleaseCapture 8. SendMessage 9. CreateCompatibleDC 10. SelectObject 11. GetObject 12. CreateRectRgn 13. CombineRgn 14. DeleteDC 15. GetPixel 16. SetWindowPos Not only does this player play your CD's, but it can also record your CD tracks to your hard drive. You can set the folder were the WAV file will be stored and the name of the wav file. The default path of the WAV is the players' location and default name of the WAV file is the CD's ID number. To save space, since these WAV files can be very large, you can take the wav file(s) and get a WAV to MP3 program and convert them to MP3. To auto-play a CD simply add the following switch: /PLAY Example: C:\Program Files\RJ Soft CD Player\RJSoftCD.exe /PLAY If you have Audio CD in any of you CD-ROM drives, the player will first find the drive it is in, load it (mount it), then play it. If you leave the switch off, the player will simply load it then wait for you. This player / recorder can play CD's that have both programs and audio tracks on it. It calculates and displays the time for each audio track with an accuracy of + or - 2 seconds. Other CD players I have seen, reads the time for track one is as the total CD time, which of course is not the correct track time. NOTE: To record, you need to select your CD Audio in the Record Control (double click on the little speaker in the system tray). Select options, properties then recording. Make sure that CD Audio is check in the list, then click the OK button. Now you should be in the recording section. Slide the volume slider to the top (maximum) and check the box below it. Close the Record Control. You should be set to record from any of your CD-ROM drives. NOTE: The quality of sound is based on the quality of your sound card. The Sound Blaster Live card, in my opinion, is the best for the price. I have tested the record function on IDE and SCSI CD drives and both worked perfectly on my system. If you don't have the font vixarasc.ttf on your system, install it before running the program or loading it in VB6. This font is required and is included in the zip. Source code is included in the zip.
