MINI IMAGE VIEWER for your Temporary Internet Images MIV is an application wich allows you to view the images located in your Temporary Internet cache folders. There are few controls but much funtionality, the user is notified of the options available through the ToolTipText property and information displayed in the Form caption property. In Slide Show mode pressing 0 to 9 or the colon key will change the size of the viewing window, pressing z and x will decrease/increase the interval between images, pressing p alternates between a Paused and Unpaused state, pressing the enter key forces the next image and pressing the 'a' key instigates Album mode. In Album mode the window state is maximised and the first 70 images are displayed. The next 70 images are loaded by clicking on the 'Next Page' command button or by pressing the enter key. You return to Slide Show mode by clicking on the 'Close' command button. Double-Clicking on an image stretches the image to the size of the window and clicking on a stretched image returns the image to it's Album size. Right Button Click on an image activates the file operation PopUp menu; the three options are Move, Copy and Delete. Note: options are disabled for Bad images. Please Note: this apllication project would not have been possible without the use of the PaintX.dll developed by Martin Skinner and which contains paintlib code. Paintlib is copyright (c) 1996-2000 Ulrich von Zadow. It is freely distributable and the only requirement for inclusion in your projects is that you give credit in your source code and preferably in an About box. That aside; PaintX is an image decoder, and is a very welcome activeX component to replace the poorly written VB LoadPicture Function which simply can't cope with a corrupted image file without crashing the application or in many cases crashing the operating system. To make use of PaintX copy or move the PaintX.dll to your Windows System Folder and and register it with windows. To do this, choose "Run..." from the start menu. Type 'c:\windows\system\regsvr32 c:\windows\system\PaintX.dll' then Click on OK. The standard error handling methods work with PaintX. This means that from Visual Basic, you can use On Error GoTo to specify a routine that will be called when something goes wrong while decoding. IF THE PaintX.dll FILE IS MISSING FROM THE ZIP FILE; THEN THE WEB SITE YOU DOWNLOADED IT FROM REMOVED IT IN FEAR THAT IT MAY CONTAIN A VIRUS. IN WHICH CASE YOU CAN DOWNLOAD PaintX FROM THIS LOCATION :- http://www.paintlib.de/paintlib/paintx.zip
