I don't really know what to say. but lately, the lack of communication has really gotten to me. pso, here's what I have to say to you:

I don't quite get what your saying about the db, but I think a lot of the stuff in the db isn't good mainly because it's just huge projects, that I never even want to fish through. Although, it does have some very useful stuff. But, what I'm getting at is, the stuff in the on the a1 website, isn't really to different from the codeyourself website content. you may hate what im about to get at, and ill probably get a little **** for my opinion, but.. codeyourself has tutorials- I know that.. but the reason i left is because they arn't even teaching beginning stuff. instead of saying "Learn string manipulation" it says, this is how you cut a string up into 2 parts using balh blah. I know you guys have put a lot of time into it, but the point of the site wasn't to teach specfic functions adn such. it was meant to have tutorials, that go over general topics of a specific area in the language, such as controls or string manipulation. I know this since the whole dam thing was my idea, and the reason i left is mainly forthat reason. anyways, i know you guys have put a lot of time into it, but it'll come along. enough said. (btw, im not rotting for any site right now, im coming close to ditching all of em.)

I'm a hobbyist also. Since I retired I am able to do the programing I want to do, although I am going in several different directions and getting none done.

I thought a place where you could talk about programing would get several people knowledgable in programing talking and learning. I hope none of you guys leave as a good part of the forum leaves also.

If nothing else we can turn this thread into something usefull.

I will try to answer a few of your questions. First, as mentioned awhile ago our new forums are on the way. It's taking a bit longer that we had estimated due to some bugs that are being worked on. Best estimate for release is end of the month.

I agree that the three post rule has to go and it will. No more having to wait for your post to appear.

More detailed forum guidelines will be included with the new forum.

We will make a decision on whether to assign a new moderator when the new forums are released.

A new "Programming" forum is a good suggestion. I see that a number of members have shown interest in this so it will we added.

I know you guys aren't made of time Just one last thing that we should maybe bring up. Consider putting in a "welcome forum" where people who just joined can introduce themselves a little. The member chat is just for chatting, but whos gonna chat if they dont know anyone on the forums? If people introduce themselves, and people reply with a warm welcome, they will feel much more confrotable, and will probably stay longer. I think it would really benefit the forums and I think you should at least give it a shot. The number one thing we need is users. users wont come with out communication, and the extra forum will solve taht problem. Try it

Sounds good to me too. I think a welcome/hello froum is a good idea. Nothing like being made to feel at home.

Im still here Booooze. Just not as much as i was because of school+stuff. I might be back more in the holidays, but it depends on what/how much coursework i get(apparantly its loads).

I still visit, although sometimes its only once a fortnight, and any questions are already answered. I go on codeyourself too, but not as much as when it first started.

I'm still deciding which language to dive into as well. it's either gonna be c++, Visual c++.Net, or c#. not sure though, and i alos plan on making a game in vb... can't wait for that ...just two weeks, and everything is gone.. except nightschool:p, end of the month for that, and then im free to go YAY...
